Ndejje University held its 24th Graduation ceremony today October 14 at the main campus in Luweero.
The oldest private university in the land witnessed a colorful event with hundreds of thousands turning up to mark the occasion.
According to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, 1,937 students graduated in different disciplines in undergraduate and postgraduate studies with males outnumbering the females.
“Today, we have a total of 1937 graduands receiving Certificates, Diplomas, Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees. 763 (39.4%) of all graduates are females, 1174 (60.4%) of the graduates are males. Congratulations!” the VC remarked,
The graduands were subsequently conferred upon their respective awards by the Chancellor, Dr Hannington Mutebi Nsubuga who hinted on the need for christian ethics during application of the acquired skills.
“The University has passed out many students/alumni and these are scattered in the whole world and making a contribution in the labour market, political arena and society in general. It is noteworthy that our products are given a dose of Christian Ethics on top of other portable skills,” Dr Hannington emphasized.
Ndejje University’s 24th Graduation ceremony was graced by the presence of Hon. Minister of ICT & National Guidance Chris Baryomunsi as the chief guest.
He encouraged institutions of higher learning to embrace ICT in order to make higher education more accessible to many and “probably at a cheaper cost.”
