Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board (UBTEB) will examine students doing Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD) course, ICPA has announced.
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA), through the chair Public Accountants Examination Board (PAEB), said Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 that UBTEB they will not be admitting students for the ATD course.
Lauren Aseru Orobia, PAEB chair, said UBTEB will be examining the ATD course with effect from January 1st, 2024.
“We wish to inform the public that the assessment of the Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD) course has been transferred to the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) with effect from 1 January, 2024,”she said.
CPA Orobia made the revelation during the release of the ICPA examination results for the November 2023 seating.
However, ICPA will examine the ATD course for the next two years and students that will not have completed the course by then will be transferred to UBTEB.
CPA Ronald Mutumba, ICPA Vice-president urged students to prepare adequately for the examinations if they want to pass, adding that professional excellence goes beyond academic completion.
“Completion does not mean you are now an excellent professional. Excellence goes beyond academic completion,”he said.
