Allan Ssembuusi, a Makerere University student pursuing Bsc. Environmental Health Science at Makerere College of Health Sciences, who went missing on April 25, 2020 in Nansana has been found residing in Mbarara.
According to Ssembuusi’s mother, he was kidnapped from Nansana and the alleged kidnappers were asking for ransom before setting him free.
His disappearance forced fellow students led by Mr. Michael Okea, aka the PaceMaker, the Aspiring College President who took the initiative to search for their colleague Ssembuusi.
Campus Bee has learned that Okea filed a formal complaint with Master Security, a private investigation force to spearhead the search. A Police case file was opened up by Ssembuusi’s family at Ganda Police Station SD Ref: 17/25/04/202, Case: Disappearance.
Master Security has been carrying out tracking operations of Ssembuusi’s phone lines, only discover that he was on another Airtel line which is not known to his family and friends.
The investigation discovered that Ssembuusi’s location was around Mbarara Town and efforts were made to search further.
On Wednesday 6th May, Master Security in conjunction with Mbarara Police searched for Ssembuusi and found him residing in Kitezi. More details indicate that he was picked that night and put under police custody at Kitezi Police Post.
Campus Bee further established that yesterday Thursday, 7th May,2020, Ssembuusi was transferred to Mbarara Police Station for for further investigation and interrogation about his disappearance.
We have been informed that the Police will later transport him to Kampala to reunite with his family shortly after finalizing with the investigation.
Ssembuusi, who has spoken to some students has assured them of his safety and his plans to come back home. He urged them to calm down and let his family know about his safety.
According to Okea who spearheaded Ssembuusi’s search, Master Security carried out the search on credit and a bill of UGX 1.24million is awaiting clearance. Fundraising by students has started; however, Okea reaches out to generous contributions from the public.
