Sanyu FM, a radio station owned by Ugandan tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia, has unfairly fired all its staff members after they engaged in a sit-down strike of payment arrears and what they termed as unfair payment decisions by the management.
According to information that we have received, all the workers that took part in the strike were fired by the no nonsense tycoon after failing to honour their payment contracts.
Celebrated Ugandan Radio Show hosts such as James Onen (Fat Boy) and DJ Xzyl, Programme Directors, Social Media Managers and more who had all worked every single day even after the lockdown were subjected to a 25% pay cut that had them go up in arms.
The management has since started fresh hiring mechanism and announced new show hosts that will be taking over from the old lot. Comedian Patrick Idringi alias Salvador is among those that have already shared the good news of their hiring with their audiences. Salvador will be taking over the Sanyu FM Morning/Breakfast Show.
The staff are currently weighing all options available to them, including wrestling the billionaire tycoon in courts of law over unfair dismissal. They have appealed to lawyers that are not afraid to take on the business magnet to come to their rescue as they fight for their rights.
Some of their immediate actions include hijacking the Station’s social media handles and using them to announce their chants of war against their former boss and calling upon the people that believe in justice to come to their recue.
