Nkumba University has left many of its students that will be graduating on Saturday 13th February. The Entebbe based university Tuesday afternoon revealed that only a few grauduands will receive “invitation cards” to attend the 23rd graduation ceremony.
The rest have been asked to stay home and attend the ceremony virtually in respect of the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health. The virtual ceremony, Campus Bee has learned, will be broadcast on Buganda Kingdom’s BBS TV and CBS FM.
Campus Bee could not independently verify what criteria the university used to handout the invitation cards to the lucky graduands. Many graduands have already cleared for graduation including purchasing of graduation gowns.
Below is a memo issued to the graduands by Nkumba University.
“Dear graduands,
As you approach the D-day, please receive this communication:
In light of the COVID19 guidelines, only graduands with “invitation cards” shall be allowed onto the graduation grounds.
For those who aren’t permitted on the graduation grounds, please follow the event live on all our media channels (YouTube, Facebook, Zoom) as well as on BBS TV and CBS FM.
We apologize for any in-convenience this may cause.”
We shall keep you posted!
