Dr. Gimuguni Lilian Nabaasa, the Busitema University Academic Registrar has released a detailed academic calendar following the university’s Senate meeting held on 11th February 2021. According to Dr. Gimuguni, all students are expected to report with laptops as the university prepares to reopen for face to face and online lectures on 1st March.
According to the Busitema University academic calendar that Campus Bee has seen, only first year and second year students will be allowed to study on campus from 1st March to 23rd April and the rest will study virtually from their homes.
From 25th April to 29th May 2021, year three, four and five students will study physically while freshers and second year scholars study online. The university plans to implement the staggered manner approach as directed by President Museveni when he announced the reopening of universities.
Busitema students are expected to sit for their end of semester one exams between 31st May and 26th June 2021. The students will then have a one-week holiday break from 27th June to 2nd July 2021. The university will resume for semester two on 5th July 2021 in a staggered manner still.
Dr. Gimuguni advised freshers to report to their respective campuses as indicated on their admission letters. Busitema campuses of Mbale, Pallisa and Namasagali will hold lectures on campus due to ample space to enforce COVID-19 SOPs.
