Makerere University Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs ) Umar Kakumba has released a detailed programme ahead of phased reopening as directed by President Museveni and the Ministry of Education and Sports.
According to the programme that this website has obtained, Makerere University freshers are expected to report on campus for orientation and registration starting this Monday, 22nd February 2021 until 27th this month.
The programme further indicates that first year students and those offering science courses (Health sciences, veterinary medicine and animal biosecurity, architecture program and 4th year agriculture students) will kick off lectures on 1st March 2021 on campus until 27th March.
Year two students and other non-finalists, who kicked off online learning on 8th February are expected to report on campus starting 28th March 2021 until 24th April. Their on campus learning will last for four weeks before going back home for online studies.
Finalists, who are currently studying online have been scheduled to report on campus on 25th April for laboratory and practical studies until 22nd May.
Kakumba further tasked college registrars to work with principles in scheduling and organizing fresher’s orientation and further urged them to produce a detailed plan.
