Leave alone the squad whose only dream and goal in life is to screw the girl/guy next door. Joanitah is goal driven, surrounded by hardworking people and inspired by them, something campus students should pick a brunch from. Asiimire Joanitah is a 3rd year journalism and communication student at Makerere University who hustles her way to the top, she has the zeal to work and study at the same time. Asiimire is a visual content assistant and producer for a one MIXAKIDS Newspaper (a children’s newspaper under SMSONE)
This young lady is an open minded person ready to do anything in media, reason she has been able to make it this far. Oh yeah! It’s called having a positive attitude! Given her job description which is photography, videography and writing. She gets the opportunity to learn new experiences each day, applies everything she studies in class to her work and vice versa.
When asked about her benefits, Joanitah said she gets the experience, rebuilds her CV and most importantly, gets to pay all her bills. As for her challenges, there have been situations were she has had to compromise school time for work and vice versa. Her busy schedules also often freak her out.
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? “I look forward to building myself into a multi talented media brand and investing in communication in the next 10years,” she stated firmly.
Hard work is really hard but it pays off, every sweat, all the long nights, the student extra time put in is eventually worth it. That’s her advice to her fellow youth.
