The comedy industry is a hard business to be in simply because it’s not easy to make people laugh and sometimes the jokes a person does don’t make sense to others but that’s not the case for one gentleman who amidst his education takes time to entertain others.
Bareija Collins Emeka (No, he’s not Nigerian) is a 21-year-old second year mass communication student at the prestigious St Lawrence University who loves not only to entertain people with jokes, but also have a good time while at it. He has graced many stages in Kampala and around East Africa with his jokes such as Laftaz comedy lounge, Theater LaBonita and just recently the Comedy Jam which featured him along side various East Africa’s finest comedians from Rwanda.
In the midst of all his comedy “madness”, he does not forget that education is important and he needs to work hard to attain a bright future. You can always find Collins fulfilling his passion for Journalism at campus or on stage because even though he loves comedy, he still has a passion for journalism.
He always keeps positive, citing that he has always wanted to do something that will not only please himself but make others in his path happy as well. He keeps reciting words of wisdom that make him not forget how far he’s come, “Without dreams, we reach nothing. Without love, we feel nothing. And without God, we are nothing. Always dream, love, and put God first in everything you do.”
You can catch him on any stage be it comedy files at Theater LaBonita, Pablo live or at Laftaz Comedy Lounge for a rib cracking performance.
