Denise Namugga, a third year Law student at Uganda Christian University (UCU) has taken matters into her own hands by starting a business of making juice. Denise says that she was inspired by a career talk that her lecturer, Africano Bigirwa gave to her.
“He told me that you can start up a side income that can greatly address a need in your society,” she says.
Namugga was also given a go ahead by her Apostle Grace Lubega, her spiritual mentor. She identified her clients who are majorly students in hostels, various offices around and some recreational spots .
She started the business with only Shs. 100,000 which she used to buy a juice stand, fruits, glasses and small jerrycans. Namugga started by hawking before buying the juice dispenser. In just three weeks of doing the business, she realized immense profits.
She advises young people that it is possible to study while making money instead of resorting to unethical ways of making money.
