Makerere University is seeking candidates for the following positions:
Academic Positions:
- Lecturers (35 positions): Ideal for experienced academicians with a strong background in teaching and research. Applicants should hold a relevant PhD and demonstrate a track record of publications in reputable journals.
- Assistant Lecturers (22 positions): Suitable for early-career academics who have completed their Master’s degree. Candidates should not exceed 40 years of age and must have a CGPA of 4.0 or higher at the time of application.
Administrative Positions:
- Assistant Administration Officers (10 positions): These roles require individuals with strong organizational and leadership skills. A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Management, or a related field is necessary, along with at least two years of relevant experience.
- Administrative Secretaries (3 positions): Candidates should have excellent communication skills and proficiency in office management software. A diploma or degree in Secretarial Studies or Office Management is required.
Support Staff Positions:
- Library Clerks (6 positions): Ideal for those with a background in Library and Information Science. Duties include cataloging, assisting patrons, and managing library resources.
- Drivers (6 positions): Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record with at least five years of experience.
- Assistant Accountants (9 positions): Candidates should hold a degree in Accounting or Finance and be proficient in accounting software. Experience in financial reporting and budgeting is essential.
- Post Bus Drivers (7 positions): Applicants must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a minimum of five years of experience.
- Post Bus Conductors (6 positions): Individuals with good communication skills and customer service experience are encouraged to apply.
- Mail Handlers (21 positions): This position is open to those with experience in handling mail and parcels, ensuring efficient sorting and delivery.
- Office Attendants (21 positions): Applicants should have experience in office management, including maintaining cleanliness and orderliness, and providing support to office staff.
