In a highly anticipated event, Busitema University held its Guild elections yesterday, March 13th, with Kwemboi Mevin emerging victorious as the 15th Guild President.
The Office of the Returning Officer for the 15th Electoral Commission of Busitema University officially declared Kwemboi Mevin as the winner of the Guild presidential election for the academic year 2024/2025.
According to the declaration made by the Returning Officer, Kwemboi Mevin secured an impressive 57.5% of the total votes cast, solidifying his position as the incoming Guild President.
The election results showcased the students’ trust and confidence in Kwemboi’s leadership abilities and vision for the university.
The breakdown of the election results revealed Kwemboi Mevin’s victory amidst competition from other candidates. His closest contender, Icumar, garnered 990 votes, representing 40.7% of the total votes, while Atiuda trailed behind with 44 votes, amounting to 1.8% of the total votes cast.
