Lugalavu Lawrence, a second year bachelor’s of Education student and Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] flag bearer was on Wednesday night announced as the new guild president-elect of Kyambogo University.
He beat NRM candidate, Solomon Ngoboka by 959 votes. Lawrence Lugavu polled 3,010 votes against his close rival Solomon Ngoboka who garnered 2051.
During a phone interview, the elated guild president elect told Campus Bee that Kyambogo students should expect “service above self” in his term.
“I appreciate the students for staying with me even in times of hardships despite of the propaganda that circulated around campus. My competitors always defined me as a weak candidate, they said I couldn’t speak in front of two students. The propanda on Facebook calling me a political failure- a lot was said but here we are…victory is upon us. I can’t thank my supporters enough. From my term, they should expect service above self,” the FDC candidate told this reporter.
Congratulations Lugavu.
