The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has released a program for the 2022/2023 guild elections.
The program indicates that the guild elections will be held on Saturday 14th May, 2022.
“The last cabinet meeting will take place on Saturday, 9th April, 2022 while the last executive meeting will take place on Monday, 11th April, 2022. The current Government will be dissolved on Tuesday 12th April ,2022 and the Guild Speaker will take over the leadership,” reads a statement issued.
The program has indicated several activities such as election of the electoral commission Chairperson, nomination of Guild officials, vetting process of the eligible guild aspirants and civic educating the students on physical and online voting.
The current Guild government took office in November,2021 and it is the first government to have a shortest term in the history of the Islamic University in Uganda.
The current Guild President of IUIU is Hafdwar Kakande while the Guild Speaker is Mugoya Yusufu.
