The ERP Manager of Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Mr Sekalema Hamza has told Campus Bee that the voting platform is secure and no one can manipulate votes, moments after the system’s unveiling.
The University Coordinator (Dean of Students) of IUIU, Dr. Sulaiti Kabali has challenged the Islamic University Students Union Government 2021 officials to conduct fair and credible elections for Chairperson Electoral Commission 2021 using the platform.
Dr Kabali says students are looking up to the IUSU Interim Government officials for well-managed elections of the Chairperson Electoral Commission who shall manage the votes when voting for the leaders to form the 34th Islamic University Students’ Union (IUSU) Government in September.
The E-Voting Platform will only allow eligible students to vote. For a student to be eligible, he or she must complete registration in the second semester of 2020/2021 Academic Year (current semester).
HOW TO VOTE:
Students of the Islamic University in Uganda are advised to follow the following steps to vote ;
(1) Visit https://portalmc.iuiu.ac.ug/Vote/
(2) The portal will ask students to enter their registration number and they will only be allowed to log in if they have completed registration.
(3) The portal will ask students to verify their registration number.
(4) The portal will ask students to generate a voting code in form of digits that will be sent into their phone number and email (both) that you updated on ERP.
NB: Only Airtel and MTN lines will receive a voting code. The ERP office is requesting all eligible students to update their phone number and email on ERP by contacting Mr. Hamis Walugembe on the following number 0705276932 (WhatsApp) before the voting day.
(5) The portal will ask students to enter their voting code and allow them to vote for a person of their choice in all (Chairperson and Guild Officials ) elections.
Islamic University in Uganda is asking the students to make sure that they have completed a registration to be an eligible voter. Voting is only once.
Meanwhile, the nomination of the candidates to race for the post of Chairperson Electoral Commission today , Thursday, 26th August 2021 has been postponed to a date that will be announced soon. The period to receive the applications for the post of Chairperson of the Electoral Commission has also been extended.
