The dean of students at Makerere University has called for nomination for the 90th students guild electoral commission candidates.
The nomination for EC candidates was opened Monday, January 15th, 2024 and will close on January 17th, 2024. All eligible candidates will be issued with a certificate of eligibility.
According to the Makerere University guild statute, students shall elect EC commissioners at college level, and these shall later elect an executive amongst themselves.
The 90th EC will then spearhead the highly anticipated 90th guild election that will usher in the 90th guild president of Makerere University.
The current government is expected to be dissolved next week. As per the guild constitution, the government is meant to be dissolved in the first 14 days of the semester.
A new government is meant to be elected by the end of the first 60 days of the semester, implying that the 90th guild elections will be conducted at most Mid March 2024.
