Despite having fixed lectures and frequent course works, hundreds of students at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) have endeavored to cast votes to determine their next Guild Representative Councilors (GRCs).
The elections started at exactly 7am with the electoral commission distributing voting material and polling agents taking up their respective stations.
According to EC, this year’s GRC election has attracted many candidates vying for several GRC and GRC secretary positions to the extent that some positions attracted four contestants. More so, to the side of voters, the turn up was very good comparing to the previous years.
Campus Bee visited several polling stations and found lines of students waiting to cast their votes.
One of the candidates who preferred secrecy revealed that the entire process was going on well and she was sure that the victory will be hers at the end of the voting process.
MUST GRC house constitutes of 75 GRCs representing academic programs, residential areas, People with Disabilites, International students and Postgraduate students.
