National Unity Platform (NUP) through its chapter at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has set tough conditions for candidates who would like to contest using its flag in the forthcoming guild elections.
Students at MUST are set to exercise their mandate to elect their next guild leaders starting 21st January to 4th February 2022. Currently there are two students who are eyeing to contest on NUP flag; Mayira Stuart and Mugenyi Jastus Kizito.
In order to ensure that the party fronts a strong candidate who will be able to serve the students’ needs, NUP MUST chapter has communicated to those who would wish to contest using the party flag to have the following requirements;
- 100 signatures from MUST students with proof a valid university ID for signatory
- A printout of academic results from first up to the most recent published results on the students’ portal.
- Two passport sized photos.
The shortlisted candidates will undergo a mandatory vetting process which will be headed by officials from the party secretariat
