Isaac Nuwagaba, the Ruhaama County FDC flag bearer has petitioned the Uganda Electoral Commission querying the authenticity of the academic papers of his opponent, NRM’s Nkwasibwe Zinkuratire.
In his petition, Nuwagaba, says he went through the nomination papers of his opponent on October 22nd, 2020 at the Ntungamo Electoral Commission offices and found that he completed his Bachelors of Law degree under mature age entry in 2019, a year after completing his Uganda Certificate of Education (O’Level) in 2018 from Entebbe secondary school.
This Nuwagaba says, would suggest that Nkwasiibwe studied his O’level and the university Law course concurrently which is not practically possible.
He faults the returning officer for failing in his responsibility to inspect Nkwasibwe’s academic transcripts.
He also wonders how the National Council of Higher Education equates Nkwasibwe’s senior 4 academic result slip without a verified Ordinary certificate from Uganda National Examinations Board.
He contends that all the academic documents that Nkwasibwe presented for his nomination to the Electoral Commission are questionable and require thorough scrutiny.
