The night of Wednesday 9th March 2022 was a one full of jubilation as Kyambogo University celebrated Tumwine Serge, the Guild President elect of the year 2022.
For the very first time in a long time, the Guild President elect won with over five thousand votes, something that made Serge amazed by the love of Kyambogo University students.
Serge won with a total of 5116 votes, Mandwa was second with 3550 votes, followed by Masudi with 1380 votes. Amwesiga Wycliffe with 193 voted and Emanzi Ronald with 106 votes.
Serge’s supporter’s danced to the music at Student Center in honor of the Guild President Elect up to around 2:00 AM when they left the campus premises.
Tumwine Serge is currently doubling as the GRC private students and Guild Speaker. His leadership journey in Kyambogo University has been a very successful one as he has never lost an election.
In his first year, he won as one of the GRCs of faculty of Engineering and in his second year he was elected the GRC private students with the number of his votes going beyond five thousand. He appreciates the students for their overwhelming love and support and promises to redefine their future as his motto has always said.
We congratulate the new Guild President elect upon winning so tremendously and breaking the record of the five thousand voters mark.
