Afrigo Band Launches Legends of Sound To Celebrate 48th Anniversary

Afrigo Band will be celebrating their 48th anniversary at a legendary music concert dubbed Legends of Sound on August 5th at Kampala Sheraton Gardens.

Legends of Sound, the first of its kind in Uganda’s entertainment industry, will be an annual musical meet and greet that brings together lengedary acts from Uganda and the rest of the world.

The first edition of Legends of Sound is dedicated to celebrating Afrigo Band’s 48 years of electric band music since its inception in 1975.

The first edition will feature international lingala star, Awilo Longomba, an internationally acclaimed Congolese artist based in France.

The first edition of Legends of Sound is organised by Talent Africa Group (TAG). Speaking at the launch of legends of Sound on June 17th, Aly Allibhai, the group’s overall head, said the event will be held annually and that revelers will have a great experience at its first edition.

“Legends of Sound will definitely become an annual show.This whole idea was inspired by Afrigo band as part of their 48year anniversary celebration and they thought Awilo, another legendary would even make it better.It feels great to have a pan-African collaboration, we are super happy to have this kind of arrangement. It’s gonna be a premium experience like never before, revelers will have a great experience to feel the real sound and have an interaction with the legends themselves,” he said.

Awilo Longomba, an Afro-pop legend known for his energetic performances and infectious beats, expressed his excitement about collaborating with Afrigo Band.


” I am very excited to to be associated with the Afrigo band. Afrigo band was and is still the best and biggest band in Uganda.The fusion of the kind of music they do makes me more attracted to Afriqo. Government of Uganda needs to celebrate Afrigo band. The audience must expect the very special fusion between Awilo and Afrigo band,” he said.

Legends of Sound – Afrigo at 48 promises an exceptional concert experience for all attendees. In addition to the electrifying performances on stage, the event offers a range of unique offstage experiences. Guests can look forward to an immersive international concert atmosphere, with state-of-the-art production, stunning visuals, and superior sound quality. Talent Africa has also curated premium experiences for those seeking an elevated level of enjoyment throughout the event.

Tickets for Legends of Sound – Afrigo at 48 will be available on Monday June 19 at tagticketing.com. Gold tables of 8 are priced at 5 Million Ugandan Shillings, while Silver early bird tickets can be purchased at 120,000/= before July 19th and 150,000/= thereafter. Ordinary early bird tickets are priced at 50,000/= before July 19th and 75,000/= after.
