Viva con Agua (VcA) – an international Organisation supporting water and sanitation projects in Uganda held their 2nd We Love Youganda Festival yesterday, 26th March at the Kamwokya football grounds also known as “Ku kasaawe” from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.
The event attracted youths and children from around the suburbs of Kamwokya who provided audience and made the event colourful and purposeful.
The festival which was free entry brought together music, art, culture and sports activities to support awareness and access to water and sanitation to Uganda.
Latim Nobert the founder of Viva Con Agua in Uganda in an interview said that the recently concluded water and sanitation project was a follow up of the world sanitation week as well. Six boreholes have so far been constructed in Karamoja.
The Ghetto film project also while at the event taught Ghetto residents skills of photography and filming among other activities.
Musicians who performed at the event included Bobi Wine, Maro, Octopizzo from Kenya, Megaloh and Ghanaian Stallion from Germany among others. An international collabo is being recorded by Uganda’s Bobi Wine and Mario, Knackeboul from Switzerland, Octopizzo from Kenya and the above mentioned Germany singers. They will shoot a music video together to be released in all 4 counties to support Viva con Agua activities.
Claudia Gersdorf, in charge of Public Relations at Viva con Agua is extremely excited and eagerly waiting for the release of the music video as she exclaimed, ” Now, that song is the perfect definition of awesome!”
Viva con Agua’s main aim is to create awareness on water, hygiene and sanitation issues and as well generate funds for clean water projects.
