Bwekati: Fenon Records' Warafiki Releases Debut Song

Warafiki, a new girls band under Fenon records has released its debut song dubbed Bwekati. The song was released today Friday December 8th, 2023.

The Afro Pop tune produced by Steve Jean along with Legend P and Joel Keys is the new love anthem in town.

Despite their debut single being Afro Pop, the trio say they don’t want to be defined by that style on and consider themselves versatile.

“We do different styles of music. In this generation, you can’t stick to one style of music because the market is so wide. As Warafiki, we have songs in Afro zouk, Reggae, RnB and Tecno among others,” they said.

With the guidance of Steve Jean, a legendary producer, artiste manager and event’s organizer, there is no doubt that these fashion-forward stars are here to stay.

Warafiki (Swahili word to mean friends is a band of three female friends Tori (Victoria Mbabazi), Eyla (Damalie Nalugwa) and Treezy (Patricia Debra Nakalembe).

The three have been friends for seven years with one common goal which is music. Shortly before lockdown, they wanted to achieve their musical dream but couldn’t find an appropriate person to make their dream come to reality until they got to Fenon Records.

For three years now, they have been undergoing immense vocal training and stage performance and presence among other things.
