BADRU KATUMBA
Even with his sakata moves… call them Michael Jackson’s bu strokes, Michael Ross failed to receive attention from students of Kyambogo University during his performance at the National crime preventer’s forum security week on Saturday. Michael Ross from the beginning of his performance was treated to the “Vayo” chants….which I can literally translate to me “geerrraaauuuurraaahiaaa”.
Being so old in the industry, Michael Ross did not get off the stage but continued to do his thing, performing songs like “clothes off” and after the performance the seemingly unhappy Michael told the Kyambogo students “temusiima” (loosely translated as “you are unappreciative.”
Michael, who the guy next to me referred to as a “struggling artiste,” started out as a dancer at the age of eight.
He released his first single Senorita in 2002 receiving massive airplay and the song won him the award for best Rand B song in 2003 pearl of Africa Music Awards
He followed it with other songs including youre the one, tell me, and gimme tonight which he sang in English to appeal to a broader Ugandan audience.
