Everyone spoke about how they will be there, statuses were updated in awe and anticipation for the day and the day Serena was to be treated to the angelic vocals of one of Uganda’s finest came to pass last night with a fine complextion.
Lillian Mbabazi, ex-Blu*3 and one of the finest artistes Uganda boasts of held her first ever concert at Serena Hotel Victoria Ballroom dubbed Upclose and Personal.
At about 8pm, fellow artistes and fans flocked the venue and rocked the red carpet as they got themselves prepared to get upclose and personal with the main act.
Time check 9:02pm, The kuma obudde star being true to her lyrics without wasting time took to the stage and kick started what many of her fans had paid for.
Lillian sang her old verses in jams while with the Blu*3 that saw her shoot to stardom, made the crowd sing along as they fell in love more and more with her husky vocals.
At different intervals, fellow artists joined her on stage; The Mith, Allan Toniks, Irene Ntale and wild chants clouded Serena when guitar maestro, Myko Ouma stepped on stage to play an acoustic version of where you are, a jam that featured the Goodlife duo and Blu3.
At the helm of every magical performance, Lillian had the liberty to don on different outfits and gave the fans a session of jams she purely did while Blu*3 still existed.
At about 11:36pm, Lillian served Serena with what they gave a standing ovation to when she called on Apass to do their memories collabo sending a deafening sound across the ball room.
As the show ended, fans couldn’t seem to have enough of Lillian and demanded that she closes it with a redo of the memories collabo.
A well attended show that saw all tables filled to capacity although a few empty seats could be seen, nonetheless, Lillian sang her heart out and left her fans enchanted.
