Mr Frank Gashumba, together with his daughter, Sheila Gashumba were last night chased away from Makerere University like chicken thieves.
The father and daughter, who were attending the ‘Face of MUK’ talent exhibition event were whisked a way by a police patrol car as students almost beat up the duo for what they referred to as ‘kamanyiro’.
It all started when Sheilah Gashumba (Presenter at NTV and Radiant brand Ambassador) was given the microphone to address the students. Chic grabbed the mic and attempted to address Makerereans while seated…she was one of the judges of the modelling contest.
This annoyed the students who shouted “How can such a young girl without a senior six pass slip address gallant intellectuals while seated?….In fact her brains are as small as those of a chicken, we will not entertain this nonsense,” a student shouted. As students became rowdy, Frank Gashumba grabbed the mic from his daughter to cool down the students. He was treated with boos and profanities were hurled at him.
Students then started throwing bottles at the duo. Police intervened and whisked away the Gashumbas in the Police Patrol vehicle.
