Cindy Sanyu is set to headline this year’s first edition of the Bell Lager-sponsored Roast and Rhyme at Jahazi Pier Munyoyo, alongside an amazing line-up of artists and Kampala’s top DJs.
We had a small conversation with her and here is what she had this to say.
- Some of the most anticipated experiences at every edition of roast and rhyme are top notch live music performances and roasted meat bonanza. As the king herself, how different are you showing up at this edition of roast and rhyme?
My entire team and I are working hard so that my fans get a first-time experience of Cindy at Roast and Rhyme. It’s not easy to reinvent yourself after about 20 years in the industry especially because the industry is always evolving. So, I am adapting in every aspect to give my fans a special performance come the 3rd of March.
- Have you ever been to any edition of Roast and Rhyme before? If yes, how best can you describe your experience? If not, what are you looking forward to?
This edition is my very first to show up and perform however, I have watched and enjoyed previous editions online. Since I’ve been pert of the experience literally, I am benchmarking those to see how differently I turn up and give my fans some enjoyments.
I also expect great vibes because the vibe at roast and rhyme is happy and that of people that have come to have fun. As an entertainer, this is important because then your vibe and that of the crowd are in sync which makes it extremely easy and enjoyable to perform.
- The official enjoyments beer bell Lager always ensures all revellers enjoy some of the best nyama at the event, what is your best nyama choma and when did you last have it?
I am not a meat lover but when I do eat it, I love me some wet fried chicken any day any time.
- Roast and Rhyme has overtime established itself as the ideal event to share a meal and some bell Lager with friends. What’s your idea of enjoyments if you’re not performing?
For someone in the entertainment industry, you’d think its partying or anything along those lines but I enjoy talking and listening to people. If we can effectively communicate to one another and laugh about our worries, share a little advise, for me that is better than anything else. Lastly come the 3rd, be ready to jam with the king herself.
