This may come as a shock to many university students but the latest news in the BeeHive indicate that singer Jose Chameleone has shipped two pairs of Nike Air Mag; Back to The Future shoes, that hit the stores this year,2016, at a whooping $12,500 (approximately shs40m) per pair.
The Wale Wale singer purchased the shoes in two colours; grey and black.
The upper of these shoes is made of reinforced mesh. The outer sole is lined with LED panels that’ll light up just like all futuristic shoes imagined in the 80’s should (we’re not talking corny LA Gear shoes here, people).
The Air Mag is rechargeable and will stay lit for 5 hours. There’s also a electroluminescent Nike logo in the strap with USB and SD ports.
Public reacts
Phillip Ainomugisha, a UCU student could not believe this; “It is a lie. that’s like my tuition with even a whooping balance to start up a business when I graduate. Un-fucking-believable!”
Mercy Akong from Mubs said that Jose Chameleone is just “extravagant.” “That dude shoots cheap videos (not above shs10m) and has the audacity to spend all that money on just shoes? Engalabi!.”
Chameleone reacts to critics
“I now certify that a lot of people…..In our society have a very short Memory and further pay attention to things that don’t matter most to themselves!!!
I Almost lost my life 8years Ago in an accident that almost left me feet less!!!! And when I chose to reward my feet for standing me this tall above the envy and hate some people show case they still want me to live their lives and disregard my own. That’s why we lead and the flock follows. It’s just shoes, Just shoes. For those advising me about financial discipline, give me a chance to advise you to. I can’t compromise my desires. IF YOU DO you will regret. We live once. And what the fuss CHINA got an option for you? in different Grades 1,2,3,10 your choice?.”
