Musician Bobi Wine opens University

Makerere University alumnus and renowned singer HE Bobi Wine the Ghetto President has officially opened a University that he has named the ‘University of Overstanding’ and has stationed it’s headquarters at the famous Fire Base Entertainment offices in Kamwokya.

In a mini event that was held at Kamwokya, the Dembe singer pledged to give help to the youth and also help the build their dreams. The University launched today is meant to teach ghetto youths knowledge and skills in activities like music, boxing, mechanics, crafts and art with the intent to create employment.

Bobi Wine and his fire base crew showcased multiple pieces and activities done by the students and also sensitized people about living a positive life.

“I invited people to Kamwokya today to show what we do, so they don’t just say ghetto youth as criminals and realise they are capable of developing themselves,” he said.

Present at the function were guests from the US Embassy, the Henhouse Prowlers (bluegrass band that sang Sitya Loss), the Ugandan Church / Nkozi Hospital and the Ugandan Youth Ministry.
