Last night, this was the case as thousands flocked the Lugogo Cricket Oval for the 10th year anniversary of Blankets and Wine.
One could tell from the extremely long queue of fashionably dressed guests outside of the venue gates by 5:00pm that the show was going to be a tale to remember from the onset.
Just like previous editions, it was a grand affair of live afro-music, fashion, art and incredible gram worthy booths by UBL’s premium beers family Tusker Cider and Tusker Malt.
The show started off promptly with a great line up of new Ugandan acts like Zulitums, Joshua Baraka, Kamanzi and Melodic Inversions who serenaded the picnic loving guests with sweet ballads before nightfall.
Later on, DJ Sesse and Fem DJ took over the music decks with their enticing sets. Their mix of dancehall, Ugandan music and Amapiano had the crowds hyperactive and awaiting the main acts; South Africa’s duo, Blaq Diamond and Ayra Starr.
The Nigerian sensation, Ayra Starr took to the stage at about 10:00pm kicking off her performance with crowd favourites like Fashion Killer, Away, Love Don’t Cost A Dime and the highlight of the night’s Bloody Samaritan throwing many into exciting singsong seamlessly.
There were lots of bites from Kampala’s top restaurants like chicken Express that popped up.
Cocktails from the Johnnie Walker tent were also another attraction.
