When it was dubbed the new face of Uganda’s cinematography, no one argued it out and we all bowed to its great screenplay and the fact that its headline actors are our most loved celebrities on screen. Written by Nana Kagga-Macpherson owner of Savannah Moon Production, the Ugandan made series had touched the fondest hearts of Campus girls who often discussed the entire episodes in whatsapp groups and gossiped about them even in their dreams. But after showing only two episodes, the star-studded series suddenly made a disappearance from our screens.
We thought maybe this was just an error from Urban TV but we were wrong, this has seemed to go on till date. Through their Facebook fan page, the Directors of Beneath the Lies made a formal statement and broke the news that their studios of Kinetic Management Group and Savannah Moon Productions had been broken into and the burglars had made away with scripts of the Series and other valuable stuff worth millions. This followed a halt on the showing of other episodes.
Ardent fans of the series took to social media to express their disappointment in the matter and hoped for the best. What really beats my understanding is that how can a production team of such magnitude fail to have back-up files of such a huge film? Why did they merely post on Facebook and claimed to have filed the case with police but never indicated the file number details? Why the case was lowly followed up and no one came to formally announce to the public of any developments of the case? Why was the debt and financial issue not solved or mentioned at all? Well those are questions that were never answered or will probably remain an enigma to the Beneath The Lies fans.
Well good news roaming the streets is that after doing all the proposed edits and re-shooting, Beneath the Lies is making its comeback to the screens of Urban TV. Through their Facebook page, a formal announcement was made of their neared return to take over screens in Uganda. Is a post that read on February 2nd that, ‘we started #BeneathTheLies as friends but we now family…they stole our footage but didn’t steal our spirit… Coming Back Soon!’ Happy New Month people.
That has for a while now geared great amounts of happiness in campus babes and some lads. Agnes Ayebazibwe, a student from Kampala International University shared her excitement with this dronebee. “I can’t wait for it to resume, the two episodes showed that the TV series was up for mindblowing entertainment. I am glad it will finally be back on our silverscreens.”
Let’s see till when Uganda’s loved series hits back the screens!
