Several campus slay queens and kings were on Sunday evening rounded up and detained by Kira Division police for flouting the Covid-19 safety guidelines.
In a leaked video, the arrested were seen drinking and smoking shisha while chanting “we don’t know Covid”.
Over 22 slept in cells whereas several others scampered-injuring themselves while others lost their wigs in the process of running away from police.
“Some slayers pulled off their wigs and threw them in their bags as they tried to pass through barbed wires- some ended up cutting themselves in the process. Most are in fact nursing wounds from the grand escape,” a washing bay attendant at the Najjera based bar cheekily told Campus Bee.
Others, we are told, got burnt by charcoal as they attempted to jump shisha pots while trying to escape.
Whereas President Museveni relaxed curfew to 9pm; Uganda has so far registered 2 Covid-19 deaths. Police say the arrested will be charged with doing a negligent act likely to cause an infectious disease.
