Kololo Independence Grounds will be the epicentre of glitz, glamour and politics on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni kicks off his bid for re-election under the campaign slogan “Protecting the Gains.”
The celebration comes shortly after the President’s nomination by the Electoral Commission at its new headquarters in Lweza-Lubowa.
And Museveni isn’t going solo. A star-studded cast of Uganda’s biggest entertainers has been lined up to light up Kololo in what promises to be an all-night party of music, dance and comedy.
Topping the bill are music giants Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, Eddy Kenzo, Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusasira, Full Figure, Phina Mugerwa, Lil Pazo Lunabe, Stecia Mayanja, Alien Skin, Gravity Omutujju, Daddy Andre, Weasel Manizo, Ykee Benda and Coco Finger. The list stretches on with crowd-pullers like MC Vex, Mc Kalera, MC Cash Owakabi, Zig Zag and Man Pato—ensuring every corner of the stage stays on fire.
But it won’t stop at Kampala stars. The event will showcase regional talent too—proof, organisers say, of the NRM’s “all-inclusive” brand. From the north, expect Bosmic Otim, Odongo Romeo, Prisca Janet, Mc Rock, Okenge Born Town, Deno Traditional Group, Blood Moon, and JM Kennedy. The west brings Ray G, Truth 256, T Paul, Sister Charity, MC Kacheche and Baingana, while the east delivers Davido Spider, Rexy, Temperature Tach, Evy Treys, Victor Ruz, MC Rogers and the Idi Amasaba Cultural Group.
And because no campaign launch is complete without laughter, Uganda’s comedy heavyweights will also be on stage. Madrat and Chiko, Dr Hilary, Teacher Mpamire, Salvado and Pastor Twine Herbert are set to keep the audience in stitches between musical acts.
With music, culture, and comedy all under one roof, Kololo is expected to transform into a national carnival as Museveni officially sets his sights on another five years in power.
Kololo will be the place to be this Tuesday.
