Out with the old; new stars shine at the 4th edition of HiPipo Music Awards

Glamour and exquisite thrill was back at it again at the HiPipo Awards on Saturday at Serena Hotel in Kampala. The 4th Annual Hipipo Music Awards saw surprises and disappointments as excited camps from various artists walked away with awards of the night.

The lots of performances that were lined up came in handy while others were merely a disappointment. The night’s MC Amooti left the crowd choking with enormous dosage of laughter. The captivating performance was of a one Jan Lion a blind upcoming artist who moved the crowd with his ‘Disability Is not inability’ song.

Samalie Matovu of the “Omukwano Gunyuma” fame made a surprise appearance and only reminded guests of her one hit. The surprise winner of the night was David Lutalo walking away with the Artiste of the Year accolade. Bebe Cool bagged three accolades for Album of the Year, Best Reggae song and Most Active Fanbase of the years (Gagamel).

Giant smartphone maker Huawei blessed every winner with a Huawei P8Lite smartphone with amazing offers from the main sponsor, MTN Uganda.
