5. Xpozed
NTV’s Xpozed show comes in at the number five. Here’s why……MC Kats is often not available and viewers are left with just nonstop mixes by the likes of Selector Jay. I must say it gets a little boring without the hype and life that MC Kats always put in this show. Nonetheless, on a typical Saturday afternoon, you are most likely to hear music blaring from whoofers in different hostels, all thanks to the mixes of Selector Jay or DJ Baby Love.
4. Hit Maker
This entertainment show airs every Saturday at 11pm on NBS TV. Presented by Jeremih alongside the skillful DJ Mark, campusers are often glued to NBS TV every Saturday morning to get a feel of the latest mixes by DJ Mark.
3. NTV The Beat Re-loaded
Too much hype was pumped by NTV when the evening entertainment show, NTV the Beat was set to revamp. Viewers from Kikoni, Buggujjua (UCU), Banda (KYU), Kansanga (KIU, CAVENDISH & IUEA) and more could not wait to see the changes on the show…..and boom! on November 1, the revamped show premiered. With a fresh new face on TV, Dave Dash, doing the gossip segment- Spill It and the famous 19-year-old Sheila Gashumba doing the exclusive interviews; this show couldn’t get any better. Evenings after lectures got more relaxing and entertaining and since November, NTV the Beat Reloaded has become the most watched TV show on weekdays’ evenings.
2. Scoop on Scoop
I guess y’all are wondering why ‘your girl’ Mary Luswata and her Scoop on Scoop show comes in at number two. Simple! She has lost it. Mary Luswata is nolonger the hard hitting, fun kinda gossip girl she used to be when she had just started. Nways, all the same Scoop on Scoop on Urban TV is watched by soooo many campus students. Campus students love lugambo and Mary Luswata, the presenter, provides just enough of it. Thumbs up to her for making more university students get interest in watching Urban TV.
The introduction of this TV show saw NTV get bashed by the public. In fact most campusers presumed NTV had become the ‘uptown Bukedde’. To many university students, the concept of this show was conceived from Bukedde’s ‘Abanoonya’.
From the day Be My Date show premiered to date, all varsity students abandon their books to watch their fellow student, Anita Fabiola, a student of mass com at Muk, do the presentation. As much as this show is bashed, campusers find themselves glued and laughing at chaps who show up for the show looking for dates. Twitter on Sunday evenings is dominated with the hashtag #BeMyDate and the rants on Facebook make this Be My Date the most popular TV show this year.
