It was a night of wild celebrations at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel gardens as New Year revelers welcomed 2016 at the UG Mix Dance Party, an annual event sponsored by Uganda Waragi.
Thousands of party goers camped at the gardens as they watched live music performances from celebrated Ugandan artists including Sheebah, Nince Henry, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Dr. Jose Chameleone; to mention but a few. Revelers started trickling into the venue that opened its gates at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 31, 2015. By 11:00pm, party goers were still lining up trying to secure tickets to the show.
The UG Mix Dance Party is the biggest Uganda Waragi Party and is an annual event held to mark the end of year and celebrate the beginning of a new one. It has been held for the past few years at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel gardens. The event boasts live music performances from celebrated Ugandan artists, celebrated DJs on the social scene and fireworks.
The event featured a prestigious cocktail bar that served Uganda Waragi’s signature cocktail menus at prices as low as Ugx 5,000.
Speaking at the event, Rhona Namanya, Brand Manager Uganda Waragi expressed her excitement at the close of 2015 and said “It has been a great year for us as Uganda Waragi. This year saw us unveil a new world class iconic bottle for Uganda’s number one premium gin, two new flavor variants; coconut and coffee, a trendy gift pack, as well as an online shopping application. As market leaders, we promise our customers that we will continuously innovate to meet their needs. We look forward to an even better 2016.”
A stunning fireworks display which was set off at exactly midnight, ushered in the new year to screams and ululations and dancing.
Security was tight on this busiest night of the year. There were no reported incidents of violence or disorder. The event was successful.
