Victoria University has come in to resolve the contention between musicians Cindy alias King Herself (real name Cinderella Sanyu) and Sheebah alias Queen herself (real name Samalie Karungi).
The two musicians have in the past days been involved in a media war over their upcoming concerts. The dispute began when Cindy announced her concert on the same day and same venue as Sheebah’s Yolo festival.
Victoria University has managed to convince the two artists into a musical battle come September 15th, 2023.
Dr. Lawrence Muganga, vice chancellor Victoria University told journalists on Tuesday that they (Victoria University) contacted the two artists and agreed to a musical battle.
“Each of the artists were contacted individually, after what we saw in the media. Each of them, on their own terms, has accepted the challenge,”he said.
The two artists will share the same stage on September 15th at the contested venue, Kololo Airstrip.
Dr. Muganga says coming in to resolve the contention is the only way they can ‘future-proof education through art’.
Judgment Criteria
The vice chancellor of Victoria University says they’re yet to formulate the criteria that will be used to judge the battle between the two artists. He, however, noted that it will be mainly the audience to decide who will have nailed it.
