ANGELLA KIZITO
OK, we are bored, Valentine’s day is now a bad routine that most of us have to endure every year and with the bad vibes of monotony flying all over the place, it gets too intense and un becoming. Valentine’s Day is now so cliché, everyone is running around acting all psycho with a number of unrealistic fantasies. Yet, some of us are here pacing impatiently waiting for that day when people will stop ruining our beautiful African streets with outfits which they have barely put any thought into except for the already known (again boring) idea that they all have to wear red and black .Where is the school principal? Am sorry, I don’t see any one forcing anyone to wear red and black. PLEASE!!!
Instead of fixing yourself in a depressing red dress or even worse, a black dress, let’s learn how to play with print, after all it’s such a happy day. African print is so far the most vibrant, bold and articulate fashion design that has ever graced its way into the glamour world. These designs give the wearer an automatic aura of confidence and they make him or her look very comfortable in their own skin.
These designs are unique, flattering and independent and these qualities often tend to transfer to the wearer of the out fits. African print is a language of spot-on expressions that scream sassy and fabulous everywhere you go. It is a statement of envy. So, I suggest each of you grabs their purse and heads to an African fashion house or designer and orders a valentines outfit. I don’t think any of you wants to look anything less than glamorous. That’s what African print does to you. You can’t help it but look glamorous and stylish.
African print is not boring. Even if everyone in the room is wearing it, you all can never look the same. These designs are diverse and flexible. In fact, African print is interesting. It is the type of brand that rewards the wearer with so much personality to the point that its uniqueness just earns you a grand entrance. Yes, and you don’t need to wear too much jewellery to be noticed. You simply just look amazingly simple and flawless. Then again, don’t just immerse yourself in a large piece of fabric. Always remember, if it does not fit, don’t look at it twice, but if you can’t resist the charm of the fabric, run to the best tailor you can find otherwise, it can all go wrong. Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you wearing African Print. It’s the real deal. Maybe when you wear African print, we can allow you to go all AWOL expecting cupid to throw you his bow and arrows (that little flying boy is even blind folded). Please, get the bow, shoot some arrows and take control of your wardrobe this Valentine’s Day. DON’T BE BORING.
