Why Your Fashion Looks Cheap No Matter How You Try

Yes, I get it. Some of you just can’t look expensive no matter how expensive you are in reality. It’s even worse when you buy cheap clothes because you really really….. +.. REALLY look cheap. Then it gets worse when you buy that dress or jacket you saw in the magazine and sadly you kill its designer effect once you wear it. You’ve become such a bad omen in the fashion world and here is why.

Unique

Either you are suffering from lack of attention or you are desperately yearning for it, I am also confused. Some of you love being unique so much that they overdose on it. The truth is being unique isn’t the solution to all your fashion problems because the real test of fashion is in who wore it better.

Jewelled Clothes

There is something about embellishments that is so off putting when they are sewn on the clothes. Ever had the saying that glamour is in the simplicity? I guess no because I just made that up but really, there is nothing that looks so cheap like a jeweled top or dress with missing jewels. Even if it ;looks ok when hang up in the store, deep down you know that once you start wearing it, it’s going to fall apart and start looking like a puzzle with missing pieces. Now that is cheap. Instead of buying all that heavy stuff, buy simple things and compliment them with worn jewelry because that won’t fall apart.

Fading

If you are a lover of dark colours like black or the navy and you are awfully guilty of buying low quality clothes please try and tame yourself to stick to lighter colours like white, yellow or greys that won’t show even if they fade. If you just can’t buy light colours, then invest in buying high quality material clothes because no matter how many times you wash them they just won’t fade.

Imperfect Fit

I will stress this over and over again until I stop seeing walking sacs all over the place. Having fitting clothes by far is one of the most fashionable traits on the fashion scene. No matter how low quality material is, as long as it perfectly tailored, one can’t fail to pull off the look but if you wear clothes just haphazardly hanging off you, you are going to look nothing else but first class cheap and confused.

Bad Finishings

This is sloppy and totally unforgivable because it shows carelessness on the part of the wearer. Keep in mind that no one will ever blame the tailor because it is pretty stupid to wear poorly tailored clothes. Pay attention to little things like loose threads, the hem, missing buttons, unfinished edges, seams that are not sewn straight, uneven creases, different colour of the thread used from the colour of the material, print that does not evenly line up for example with the print on the pocket or collar. These little things make a big difference.

Lace

Today lace is all over the place and however sexy it tends to look, it has an even creepier trashy vibe to it if not bought carefully. If you are a lace lover, try to stick to pieces that use lace as an accent instead of all over. Only buy that lace that is delicate and raw in the sense that it hasn’t been folded many times on the piece you’re buying. Keep in mind that lace can only look expensive if it is left to follow its uneven design and not folded many times on the edges or sewed like a normal piece of fabric.
