Daisy Namazzi, a first year Development Studies student, is this year’s winner of the Muteesa I Royal University beauty pageant 2014/2015. The event that was first stopped from happening because the students invited Amama Mbabazi as guest of honour, finally took place over the weekend at Club Ambiance Masaka.
The three campuses of Masaka, Kapeka and Luweero presented 12 contestants who tussled it out for the crown. Namazzi stood out from the rest of the contestants as her confidence, articulation and poise won her a lot of marks from the judges. She was awarded shs3 million cash prize by the university.
Mercy Sabira, a second-year-student of Education and Design emerged first runner-up whereas Olivia Nakanwagi a third-year-student of Business management, became second runner-up.
