Yes, a well tailored suit to a girl is like lingerie to a man. By now you should know women are not so physical. Women want you to be classy, look like a million bucks and then to walk into a room and capture the golden moment. If you want to look like the type of man who owes the world nothing, wearing the right suit will put you on point. Sorry men, it’s not as easy as you think. However, men are advantaged not to have so much choice, so the suit is like uniform. All you need is to get the basics right.
It must fit. Please men, don’t be a sack. Be a man and suit up. More than ever, it’s not about how expensive your suit is. All we want is to see it fit. A suit that hangs off you tends to look borrowed and stupid. You don’t look like a focused man, it tends to pass you off as a man who goes with the flow, is boring and doesn’t pay attention to detail. You don’t need to go all expensive because I have seen men in cheap well tailored suits who manage to look a billion bucks. It’s got to fit you right or else don’t wear it.
The trimness of the suit. First of all if you still have a four or six button suit jacket make use of the trash can right now or donate it. If you still want it you can wear it inside your bed just do not step out in it.
Always know the different details that style up your suit because you are not wearing just some junk. Details like the lapels, buttons, or the ticket, the cuff etc
- LAPELS- these will dictate a suits character positively or negatively. It’s more preferable when slim and about two inches at its widest.
- BUTTONS- Go for a one, two button suit jacket. Sure three can go but in this fashion world, two buttons are most reliable.
- THE VENT- These are the slit like details at the back of your suit jacket. They boost the character of the suit. Usually people prefer the centre vent because it’s simple and can’t go wrong but side vents make more of a statement and if you can pull off the look, they will be more rakish and playful.
Wear a much shorter suit jacket. This is for the same reason a suit should always fit right. Don’t wear something too long. You obviously don’t need a stylist to tell you that.
Slim down. You’ve got to slim down. That includes your shirt, tie and shoes. This helps you not to look like your trying hard. Simplicity is elegance.
A Three piece suit. This suit announces its self loud and clearly so wear a subdued tie and shirt combo to provide balance and consistency. The vest should fit perfectly and should hit the belt buckle, not past it.
Patterned suit. This one is as loud as a three piece suit however these patterned suits inject more personality to the wearer. The patterns have a lot going on with them therefore they are not boring but you have to suit this one with the right attitude to pull off the look. This means not everyone can wear these. Otherwise if this goes wrong, I don’t want to be around you either.
