The glitter may have settled at the Sheraton Kampala gardens, but 22-year-old Trivia Elle Muhoza’s new crown is already under siege.
Muhoza, from Bukomansimbi, clinched the Miss Uganda 2025 title, driving away in a brand-new Toyota Wish and securing her ticket to represent Uganda at Miss World. But within hours of her victory, a fierce row erupted online.
On X, Facebook, and TikTok, furious fans branded the pageant “rigged,” “predetermined,” and a “sponsored crown.” Many argued that crowd favourites Faith Kirabo—who won Miss Beach Body—and Agatha Drakes Keine, crowned both Miss Photogenic and Multimedia Queen, had been “robbed.”
Some bloggers alleged Muhoza had long been “earmarked” thanks to connections and her polished PR campaign focused on empowering single mothers.
Yet defenders insist Muhoza’s win was well deserved, pointing to her standout Q&A performance, where she vowed to fight gender-based violence. “She answered the questions, she walked the walk,” one supporter fired back online. “If your fave didn’t bring brains with the beauty, blame them, not Muhoza.”
The finale itself was a spectacle, with designer outfits by Kaz Divo and Fatuma Asha, and performances from Aziz Azion and Grace Nakimera. But for now, the afterglow is overshadowed by debate over whether the judges crowned the right queen.
As Uganda waits to hear where Miss World 2025 will be staged, one thing is certain: Muhoza’s crown may sparkle, but it’s under fire.
