Of late, many people especially students are turning from book reading to web reading. What I mean is that many students have resorted to reading from the internet and doing their research on their, in this era of social media, crazy games and deflecting websites, these apps will be of great help to any student, writer, or even a person who likes procrastinating.
1) ColdTurkey
This app temporarily blocks social media and games while you study to keep you from procrastinating. This app gives you chance to block other websites as well, so you can study without any distractions. This app is only for Microsoft OS, MAC users use an app called self-control which does just the same thing.
2) Wakerupper
For a person who loves the snooze button, this is the app for you! Wakerupper is simply a call to wake up, this is an alarm that comes inform of a call, I guess one will easily wakeup if he/she receives a phone call compared to when he/she is using an alarm clock. Stop the snoozing and get to work.
3) Positive reinforcement
This comes to urge you to complete that coursework or blog post or letter, because, for every 100 words written, the app cheers you on by sending positive reinforcement inform of a picture. The picture might be a sun bird, puppy anything that would make you happy.
4) Negative reinforcement
This app doesn’t exactly work like positive reinforcement. With this app, a writer or student sets time that he will be writing, in-case one doesn’t make it to the number of words he/she wanted to write in the specified time, it shows a scary image.
5) Another writing app
With this app, one doesn’t see the work he/she is writing until he/she reaches the word limit he/she had set. This works in a way that the writer should keep writing, without being distracted by grammatical errors or something of the sort. That way, someone gets to write all their thoughts or work without being interrupted by anything.
6) Squirt
This app was specifically designed for people who have trouble reading and focusing on things, it’s like speed reading anything on the web. The app basically lets you read one word at a time, that way, you get to remember everything that you read.
