Africell Uganda will this month be partnering with the Italian Embassy in Uganda to promote the rich and diverse Italian culture with Ugandans and Italians living in Uganda, as well as offer support to the victims of the earthquake that struck Italy on August 24, 2016.
Africell will be offering communications support inform of sponsorship and internet access at the week long event.
“Africell believes culture is crucial in bringing people together. Our support of the Italian cultural week is to cement this belief and to celebrate global togetherness,” says Milad Khairallah Africell’s Commercial Director.
The week long celebrations will include a performance from Claudia Hausmann with the Ugandan Jazz band Baxmba, promote Italian cuisines, workshops on cuisine, music and social design.
There will also be fundraising campaign at the event with the hashtag #KampalaPerGrisciano which is a medieval village that was heavily affected by the earthquake. The funds will be channeled through the association “Amici di Grisciano” which loosely translated means, “Friends of Grisciano” for the reconstruction project.
Other partners involved in the cause include Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Emirates, Cheesvi Ltd, Linove, Jazzville.
