Uganda, Kampala – Today, Airtel Uganda has unveiled BET Viewer’s Choice Best New International Artist Award winner Eddy Kenzo as the new Ugandan ambassador for the It’s Now campaign.
This announcement comes only a few weeks after Airtel Africa announced a new Pan-African campaign, dubbed It’s Now, that seeks to nurture and grow talent in Africa through various consumer touch points such as sports, lifestyle and music while providing customers with access to connectivity and technological solutions that will enable them explore opportunities around them.
According to Airtel Uganda’s Managing Director, Mr. Tom Gutjahr, “Eddy Kenzo is a real life example of someone who has worked his way from the streets to a respectable position not only in the Ugandan music industry, but the entire world,”
“This partnership with the Ugandan celebrity is one of the ways Airtel Uganda is reiterating its commitment to support the youth in Uganda and remind them to work hard and unlock their potential. Their time is now,” Gutjahr added.
The partnership that was unveiled today will see local music sensation Eddy Kenzo support Airtel’s Corporate Social Responsibility particularly in youth empowerment for development.

Some of the international platforms Eddy has performed in include SXSW 2015 (Austin, Texas) Africa Cup of Nations 2015 (opening and closing ceremony) in Guinea Equatorial, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Cameroon and so many more.
