Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has suspended student bags inside the university until further notice. The update comes in the wake of a double explosion that happened today, November 16 in Kampala Central near Kooki Towers and Parliamentary Avenue.
Mubs, like any other Public place is accessed by all sorts of people from different places and with different motives. Considering the current terrorism threats in the Country, security is making all efforts possible to protect everyone both within and outside the University.
“Bags have been declared a serious security threat to students and non- students during this harsh period. Therefore, this is to inform all students that with Effect from 17th November 2021 (Wednesday) security will not allow bags to enter MUBS gates until further notice,” the OC MUBS police station notified the community.
The security personnel went ahead to inform the roadside vendors around the main entrance into MUBS that all businesses are to be halted for the meantime.
“All businesses carried out at the main gate are also suspended,” the OC added.
It should be noted that only light transparent clear bags for books will be allowed inside the University and a laptop bag with only a laptop inside will also be allowed.
