Jayson Mukasa is a second year student at Makerere University pursuing a Bachelor’s in Education (BAED). He seems to have mastered the art of juggling both studies and his businesses.
When Mukasa was still in High School, he was driven by the passion of showbiz, entertainment & lifestyle. Little did he know that one day he would reap from his passion. “When I wake up in the morning I always pray for my business just like any other business owner,” he says.
When he was in his form six vac, 21-year-old Mukasa, teamed up with a cameraman of his former school to realize his video editing skill and to grow heights.
After making some really good money, he used part of it to acquire a laptop and open up a video library- since he had the urge of going solo.
He set up “Jay-world Entertainment” library along Namugongo- Kireka road opposite Club Asylum. One and Half years down the road, he has accumulated enough money to make him grow to heights; he has spread his wings by expanding to Nasser Road, where he opened up a secretarial bureau. He’s currently stationed at Nasser Street & that’s where business is booming.
From his video library, on a weekly basis, he makes profits amounting to 80k-100k from his Namugongo based library. From that at Nasser Street, he accumulates profits that don’t go below 90k weekly. From all his struggles, he’s been able to buy himself a piece of land in Wakiso and he foots most of his bills. He intends on enlarging his library and also fixing a saloon to supplement on his income. “I never ask for upkeep money from my parents since I make some money off my business. Sometimes I even pay half of my tuition out of my profits,” he adds.
He says he’s surely half way living his dream.
