We watch movies and see people on boat cruises in the Bahamas and we desire to enjoy life just like them. Uganda has picked up on the boat cruises and the famous one is that of Portbell. These cruises are filled with loud music, lots of food and of course alcohol. Many a time, companies hire out the boat for parties and some people throw private parties on them. Some people are invited while others pay a fee for a fun time on the Lake Victoria waters. It is a wonderful experience. Yes, it is awesome, but sometimes campus students are victimized on these cruises.
Victimized campus students
A group of campus girls were invited for one of these cruises. They were so excited and convinced by their friend that it was going to be ‘bloody’ and everything was on the house. The girls picked out their white outfits since it was an all-white cruise. Since it was a boat cruise they obviously wore the most revealing outfits that fitted the event (we all know how it goes down, don’t we?). On that day, they got to the boat and set off immediately. When they got to the far at the lake, their friend called them and distributed them to the ‘pot-bellied’ big men who were seated waiting while sipping on expensive liquor (read Red Label). The girls were in utter shock and clueless about what was happening. The men offered them 500,000 shillings (for transport) each so they could have sex with them. They (girls) declined these peanuts. This did not go well with seemingly powerful men. They opted to forcefully have sex with the girls. “One of the men (I cannot reveal his name because he’s so powerful and influential) told called us in a room at Mutoola beach. We went only to find naked potbellied men waiting for us in a single room. They promised to foot all our campus bills in exchange of sex. We rejected their offer. That didn’t go well with them. One tried to pull me from where I was standing to the 6×6 bed. Fortunately, he didn’t get a grip of me because of obviously his weight, he wasn’t swift enough. We then ran out of the room and timidly went back to the bar. We looked for our friend who apparently brought us to the ‘hell’ cruise but couldn’t locate her. We obviously didn’t enjoy the party thereafter. After it all, we left after seeking the bouncers’ protections at a fee,” One of the victims narrates.
Campusers should be careful what parties they attend get all the details they need before they go. Know who’re going to party with.
