If you didn’t know, Mike Muhima a digital media practitioner with Kawowo Sports and Hive Digital Ltd (Campus Bee’s parent company) had been missing since Friday last week after he was whisked away by the Police from his home in Kabalagala.
Muhima, a former Law Student at Makerere Law School, was allegedly “arrested” to be questioned on matters of cyber security by the Uganda Police.
According to a former classmate of Muhima, that happens to be his neighbour as well, he was taken on Friday night from his home.
“On Friday, I returned [back home] later than usual and found Army guys in our home area. We stay about 5 minutes apart. It was very odd, my boda guy actually freaked out thinking it was a curfew related operation. The Army guys looked at my scared face and smiled.” Muhima’s former classmate narrated.
“By the grace of God, I made it home alive and untouched. I was too scared to tell anyone. On Saturday morning, my little sis walked up to me and was so worried about me. She told me that Mike had been abducted but they feared to tell me because I tweet everything.” She further said.
She disclosed that Muhima was whisked away when he stepped out to buy airtime in the evening. She revealed that it wasn’t the now popular Drone Operations but they carried him and pushed him under the seats of the Police pick up (Kabangali) like ordinary criminals.
He is apparently being held at Kabalagala Police Station where the Police has admitted to holding him from.
His arrest has been both shocking and traumatizing for his friends and workmates. They say, he is not someone they’d point out if there were any worries of cyber crime because he is really harmless and minds his business.
We hope he is released back to his family safe.
