Festivals in Uganda have become the in thing usually reserved for Kampala city especially those that celebrate art and culture such as Bayimba Festival and Pearl Rhythm. In fact, such celebrations of art and culture have barely left the city confines. This is what makes the Milege World Music festival at Entebbe Botanical gardens exceptional.

Uganda Breweries Limited’s (UBL) flagship beer brand Bell Lager was the official beverage sponsor of this year’s Milege World Music Festival as they celebrated their fourth year since inception in 2010 under the theme, “Celebrate Africa”.

According to UBL National Promotions Manager Roy Tumwizere, the festival is one of the many ways the brand is pushing to discover, grow and promote purely local music, art and culture.

“Our brands are made to be part of celebratory occasions hence the decision to be part of this astounding event. Bell Lager supports and promotes purely local made music and this event blends well with our brand’s vision,” Tumwizere relayed.

Other activities that revelers indulged in included fishing, biking safaris, boat rides to Ngamba Islands chimpanzee sanctuary, a complimentary visit to Uganda wildlife education center, indigenous games, visual art exhibitions, poetry, storytelling, bird watching, camping, forest walks, and so much more.

Notable about this year’s edition was the fact that it was dominated by many art lovers, delicious food and obviously great music. In addition to the celebrations, the magic continued to the beach as Black Bell treated revelers from the festival to a ‘Next Level’ experience of UBL’s newest beer brand. Black Bell is a beer that appeals to cool and vibrant people with desire to go next level.

Taking place for the fourth time, the festival remains a non-profit initiative whose main objective is to promote and grow the appreciation of cultural music in Uganda.
